Rinspeed’s chameleon-like contraption, the iChange, does a good job of pushing the boundaries of conventional car wisdom. It’s intriguing--to say the least, and now we’re getting more details in advance of its reveal at the Geneva motor show.
The iChange is a futuristic, tear-drop shaped car that can be configured to seat one or up to three with the push of the button that raises the rear end. The car draws power from a 150-kilowatt electric motor, and the newly released specs are fairly impressive: 0-62 mph in just over four seconds and a top speed of 137 mph. Rinspeed says the car discharges no emissions.
It has a relatively light weight of 2,315 pounds. Shifting is done with a six-speed gearbox sourced from the Subaru WRX, and the iChange rides on 215/40-17 Pirelli P Zero tires front, 245/40-18 rear... http://www.autoweek.com/article/20090217/CARNEWS/902179977
