Although gas prices have fallen dramatically since last summer, many automakers are still moving ahead with plans to introduce new electric vehicles. Chevy expects to roll out its Volt electric car by 2010, but you don't have to wait that long to get your hands on a gas-free vehicle.

So what can you buy right now, and what can you expect to see in the months and years ahead? Here's a quick rundown.

The article said the Volt will cost $30K-35K. The price has jumped around alot in the last year. Is this the newer figure for the volt?

Aether, the latest estimates put the price in the high $30K range, but a lot of places take out the supposed $7500 fed tax rebate from that price (and end up with something like $31K). Honestly, I don't know how many people are going to be able to qualify for it, and of those that do how many will be able to up-front the money in the first place.
