Ford has possibly solved the poor cold weather HV battery problems found in the FEH. The FFH HV battery takes its ventilation from the cabin where the driver can control heat and cooling. Cold weather is not something I have a problem with here in South Florida but a majority of FEH/MMH folks have complained about EV problems during the winter. After all, what good is a 47mph EV speed that can't be used much during the winter. I love my strong 40mph EV speed in my '09 FEH, but 47mph would be much better.
Now that we have the SGII Xgauge we can monitor the temperature of the HV battery. With control of cabin heating, we can control HV battery temperature much better. Even a portable duct system could be rigged up to be used for heat or cold air to the battery vent directly. We'll have to wait to see what adjustments if any will be needed in the FFH, but Ford has made some great improvements.
