I just wanted to let those of you know, who met my son and thought he was bored out of his mind and wasn't paying attention, that he did learn something. While Wayne had me out for my mini-clinic, we encountered a situation where Wayne suggested smart-braking. Today, when my son got home from school, he said, " Smart-braking came in handy for me today." He was telling me that he came up to an intersection with a couple of cars setting there and the light was red. He started his braking and he said that by the time he got to the interesection that the light had turned green and the cars were gone and he had a clear path. This should give all of us encouragement when we're talking to people about driving for FE and their eyes seem to glaze over that they may still be learning something. :-) Thanks Wayne and all.

Hi Larry:

___I almost felt sorry that your son had made the long trip with little in the way of entertainment given Justin was about the only one at the meet of his age and Justin had to leave so early …

___It is really great to hear that he picked up one of the somewhat hidden techniques and I for one hope he will be able to use all the information we presented for the rest of his life. After all, it is the youngsters like your son Larry and Bradlee’s son Justin who will be leading the way in the not to distant future. I cannot wait to see what those two will do when presented with a 2012 Yaris using a Li-Ion based PHEV-50 or something akin to an Aptera w/ a .4L PZEV based Turbo Diesel and 5 kW of SuperCaps to show us old timers how far back in the stone ages 50 - 150 mpg segments and tanks really are!

___With what your son told you this afternoon, I thought about Randall’s Insight sig “When I grow up, I want to be a gas hog”. He is right on. 100 + mpg tanks should be the gas hogs of today and with Justin and your son Larry leading the way, they will be in the not to distant future!

___Good Luck and congratulate your son as he has a promising future ahead of him if you have anything to do with it :D

___Wayne
