I've been missing from the forum for a while as this has been a busy term for me at school. For those of you who don't know, I'm in Mechatronics Engineering at University of Waterloo.

Next term I'm going to be working at Navistar International corp. in advanced diesel control research. This is a fairly exciting field in ICE FE research, and I'm looking forward to the opportunity.

Obviously a lot of the work I will be doing there will be confidential, but I hope to share some of the non-confidential information I gain with all of you.

Now I just have to get through finals...

Very exciting, Kirk! Is this a co-op or are you graduating and starting a permanent job there? Good luck with the finals, too!

Kirk- good luck.

Fascinating, I was considering posting Int'l's decision to go with extra EGR instead of SCR for 2010, including Cummins supplied engines. Their official position appears to be that DEF will be as/more expensive offset to the increased mpg of SCR, and DEF infrastructure won't be there.

They are swimming against the tide- given Detroit's, Cummin's, Paccar's and Volvo's decision to use SCR. If diesel stays at $2.50/gal, Int'l wins. If it goes up to $5/gal...
