I came across these on the site juicedhybrid.com. They are "voltage regulators" that supposedly aid in maintaining an optimum voltage level and minimizing drain on the high voltage battery. Since some of us, myself included, have experienced issues with the IMA battery experiencing wide fluctuations in SoC, was curious as to whether these will make a difference of not.
They appear similar to the voltage regulators that used to be present on older ambulances I worked out of. The devices worked in tandem with a sequencer when the internal electrical systems, halogen warning lights, etc. were activated at the same time to control the draw of the various systems and prevent dead batteries (there were two 12-volts and an inverter).
Voltage regulation systems seemed to work well in that application, so I an curious as to their value in hybrids.

And for the Prius people...

I'm a little paranoid about messing with a high voltage electrical system, an a little suspicious that this is essentially high priced "snake oil." Any comments? MSantos? Anyone have any experience?
Thank you!
Mike
