Is there a particularly compelling reason / event / info-dump /
whatever that makes this meeting especially important?

Hi Hobbit,

Sorry, I really Do-Not know the Details on the meeting and it's content.

Wayne, thinks it is really important for anyone that can attend to do so. I suspect from him asking me to Post this message to members that there must be a lot going on in this meeting coming up.

Perhaps, a PM to Eric Becky or Tom Baleno could further clarify exactly what is going to take place in this Milwaukee Meeting this coming Saturday.

Hobbit,

Under other circumstances I would be glad to place a call to Wayne and get more/additional information. However due to his being for the most part Bed-Ridden and on all kinds of Pain-Meds I just don't think it is in His best interest to call him for further info. regarding this meeting. Sorry, I just don't have any further info. for you.

Terry

I know they have quite a few things on the agenda. Not sure what Wayne might be referring to?

I forwarded a message to Bradlee and Justin Fons, the organizers. Hopefully they will chime in here if they have time.

I have not heard anything from Wayne as to why this meeting is so important to attend. Although, I'm glad he's encourging Illinois members to attend, as they always have so much to contribute to the discussion.

Hi Tony:

___As a member of the Milwaukee Hybrid Group and both E-Mailing back and forth and speaking with Bradlee via Cel on what seems like a weekly basis, there membership has increased mightily and given HF2006, there may be a few new attendees that need a little guidance from other experts is all.

___I am particularly glad to hear you can head up because the P&G clinics are so darn important to get the new drivers up to speed as to the why’s and how’s and get their numbers up quickly. It is almost a travesty to see the Prius II’s capabilities being unused when it you can show the new members how easy it is to achieve while traveling any 40 mph and below limited roadways. This includes most of the arterials of Milwaukee, Chicago, Madison, every suburb in between, as well as the Interstates when traffic jams are encountered while DWB.

___This is my main reason to make sure the Milwaukee Group Meets are so successful and represented by those who I consider experts in the field … Bradlee, Justin, and yourself are highly qualified instructors if you catch my drift. Tom can help with the HCH-I/II crowd by forcing the techniques we all know of and some of us use daily as well as Justin having an even better handle on for those with Insight’s. Justin, I hope you have discovered now how to max the Insight’s FCD. I was hoping to show you the technique this coming weekend if I make it but just remember what I taught you wrt the Warm up last winter. Pop, Pop, Pop, FAS Glide, repeat. The 150 + will show up almost immediately. No More then 4 bars during the pulse as the SoC slowly falls. It may take some 20 miles to see her stabilize down around 2 to 3 bars but it works for competitions as you will see the iFCD in the 30 – 45 mpg range during the pulse. 4:1 + Glide to Pulse ratios will get you there quickly. Tom, 25 – 43 mph in both the HCH-I and II at a slowly increasing RPM to 2,350 will work there magic too … In front of the library is a decent road although too many lights. Take a run toward the Airport and there are some nice dips for longer glides … I know you do not like to do the training but you might be all we have available. Just sis in the passenger seat and follow through just like we did on our test road last year.

___Bradlee, if you can remember, bring an air compressor, a nice gauge, and a few longer extension cords that you may be able to use the library’s external outlets. A quick check will show some of the new members way under spec and they need the most help … The magic really begins at around 44 if you know what I mean ;)

___Good Luck

___Wayne

Hi Tony,

First, I have to say thanks to Wayne, Tom, you Tony and all our friends and supporters in the Chicago area. I think what we have going for us with the Milwaukee Hybrid Group is pretty spectacular. In the 8 months since Justin and I started the group we have over 100 members. Just about every hybrid vehicle is represented by our members. We have larger plans to be more involved with the general public as well as corporate and legislative entities in the future. We believe that we are on the cutting edge of what a hybrid group should be and can be, much like the cutting edge of what cleanmpg is doing.

The first two letters in our STEP program stand for Support and Teaching of hybrid owners. This has been a focus of our group and what we believe has made us successful. To give new hybrid owners the assurance that they've made the right decision to buy a hybrid and then to give them every tool, trick or tip on how to achieve what we all know hybrids can achieve is, and will be, our primary focus. That's why Wayne feels it's important to be there, as many of our newest members come to our meetings for the first time to learn. Each of our members are not only students but also teachers. Do you remember when you started driving a hybrid, how lonely it was to find out exactly what you should or should not do? Well, now we all have enough miles under our belts so that should not be the case anymore. There is a support network out there and it's called the Milwaukee Hybrid Group.

So thanks to cleanmpg and all our Illinois members you have supported us since we got started. If we don't have enough trainers at this meeting for our new members, that'll be fine. They'll learn enough to keep them busy until our next meeting. In addition, we hope to soon set up a mentor program where our newest members can call or meet other veteran owners with similiar vehicles on a one on one basis, outside our regular meetings. All it takes is a little encouragement and then some success and we'll have grateful and happy hybrid owners. We're all in this together!

Thanks again for everyones support and encouragement and we hope to see you on Saturday and as always, keep workn' it.

Thanks,
Bradlee

Wow, and my plug for a New England one-shot gathering over on
PC fell totally flat. Doesn't the northeast have *any* sense
of community??
