I got slapped with this question today when I went to help a coworker trying to sell an '09 HCHII base model. Then the guy asked what kind of mileage I get, I told him yesterday's home segment and he stopped being hostile but he still didn't seem interested in hearing much about the car. He was still asking good questions about the hybrid but I hope he was just less expressive than most and not that we had a bad first impression.

Indeed, from watching him drive it would have been much more useful, but when I was helping people sell several Prius I learned that you can't critique their driving until they own the car. Though showing them in my own or in the car they are looking to buy might not come off with the same vibe, I'll see about that on my next opportunity. In fact the policy for the store down in FL was that the customer didn't drive off the lot, the rep did and then they switched at the local golf course.
