New to the site and hybrids. Picked up a 2006 HCH-II about a month ago.
First, the "Adapting Hypermiler Techniques To the HCH-II" was awsome reading! I learned a lot. Should be handed out to people at the dealership when they buy their hybrid, IMHO. I tried out those techinques on a run into work last week and came in at 65.1 MPG! Can't wait for the engine to loosen up a bit to see how things turn out.
I'm intrigued by all the tips and tricks to increase FE that can be gelaned from a site like this. Trying to plan out some mods for the future, but not sure where to start. Guess the first will be Mobile1 0-20WT at the first oil change. Anyone have an idea what kind of improvement this might bring?
Thinking about aero mods for the front grill and rear wheel skirts, but that might be awhile.
I'd like to find some kind of LED replacements for the DRL's as I think I read somewhere they reduce the chance of an accident 15%, so I'm reluctant to full the DRL fuse.
Need to learn more about warm air mods.
Thanks for the nice welcome after I registered, Wayne.
