I thought I would post this here in case anyone is interested. I want it but can't afford it right now.:(

What does everyone think of this car? The engine was replaced last year and the batteries were replaced in 2001. 176,000+ miles total.

The lifetime mpg is 55.6, so I'd rule out abusive driving, although probably just drove with the pack - not much hypermiling. I'd rule out any Insight with under 50mpg lifetime. I'd say it looks OK, but if it were me, I'd want to know more before taking the plunge.

Methinks someone is rationalizing right now. I predict that a PZEV Accord with a brand spankin new yellow top battery will show up in the classifieds soon.

If this e-bay Insight was rebuilt nicely, it would be a good buy - forget the 175,000 miles on it except maybe the OEM transmission....

The car went for $6301...

Then again, that was an East Coast car, probably seen a lot of salt. It had ~175k miles. It just might be $6301 worth of trouble.

Keep in mind that it's aluminum, so it would have a lot less rust than a CRX.

Aluminum corrodes, too.
