I just coasted ICE-off into the parking lot after a poor segment. But rather than go directly to my face-out parking space I just drove around the perimeter bleeding off the excess KE to bring up the average. Went from 38.1 to 39.5mpg by the time I got into my space. Something's wrong with me!

Hi Tim:

___I have to do that sometimes too! After I pass through a security checkpoint, there is an ~ ¾ mile distance to drive before I park. Because this is a single lane road with multiple workers ahead and behind, I have to accelerate much more quickly and up to a far higher speed before a FAS then I would normally drive over this short section. When that condition arises, I will circle the large back lot sometimes as much as twice while bleeding off the excess speed caused by the traffic behind. No sense in using the brakes when you don’t have too ;)

___When there is no one behind, I can almost to the foot FAS from a much slower speed after a much shorter distance from the stop and glide right into one of my parking spaces at a crawl for a perfect FAS to Face-Out. That large empty back parking lot in the back gives me a lot of room to maneuver her for the perfect FAS no matter the traffic conditions in fact ...

___Good Luck

What the heck is all this FASing?

Why don't you just hit your EV button and stealth across the parking lot? :bananapowerslide:

You have to pay back that electricity some time Tony. It isn't free ;)

Trust me, if I had an EV button...

Another evil effect of the "cleanmpg virus" is that I once planned to drive this car for 8-10 years if possible. Now I'm just worried that in two years' time I'll either run across a low mileage used HCHII at the right price or else Honda will start selling a hybrid Fit with all the right hypermiling goodies. Or I'll surrender to the sickness start looking at my finances after test driving a Prius. Maybe if I set some kind of ridiculous goal like a 50 or 55mpg tank before trading the Accord I'll have to hang on to it for the original time frame. Or my FE will improve...

Brick you are doing great. You are beating the average HAH driver by a healthy margin.

Wow! That's amazing! The same thing is happening to me too. I guess more than one type of virus can be transmitted by computer.:D My usual spot has been taken lately because another department is working extra hours so I coast right past my spot to the next available place. Of course I try to make it a row or two further now.

The title of this thread What have you done to me is one of the funniest things I've seen all day.
It brings to mind all the changes made in my own life, not only rolling around a parking lot!
ROTFLMYO!
