Talk shows in Georgia with a flood of callers upset about the suggestion the game might be canceled so enough gas would remain for work and essentials...well they considered this an essential. -- Ed.

This is how serious the Southeastern gas shortage has become: There's talk of calling off college football.

Not serious talk, of course. A petroleum executive's suggestion that No. 3 Georgia postpone its Saturday night game against No. 8 Alabama was quickly dismissed Friday by the Georgia governor's office as "ridiculous."… http://www.wsbtv.com/news/17562978/detail.html

Maybe the stations could limit the purchases to 10 gallons. This would help the cars owners that are not the problems and make the truck/SUV owners feel the pain they are causing.

Actually, they should set a minimum limit of $25 worth of fuel, in this state.
When we have long gas lines in Massachusetts, you can be sure that
75% of the people in line just want to top off their tanks with a couple of gallons..

You should see them mobbing the bottled water racks at the stores when a storm has been forecast. Like lemmings.. :Banane40:

I bet a home delivery gas service would be booming right now in that part of the country.
