To get to work, the PAD owner just parks his "mobile urban loft" near the office and walks, avoiding the necessity of commuting on clogged highways. Eventually, people will buy these big ugly things and the highways will be clogged with rolling apartments.

I had thoughts of bringing up RVs for awhile. In the big picture of total energy consumption, they could be a good thing if it's someone retired, moving every few months with a moderate-sized vehicle in tow.. Kind of doubt POD would work that green...

I still don't think GM gets it, but at least they know how to build things. Can't say that for Ford. Both of these companies go by the "big cars, big profits" way of thinking and it's probably why they throw us FE guys a bone by tossing hybrid powertrains into giant vehicles instead of building something that can get more than 34mpg highway.
