Annually, how many are killed globally on the highways?

Interesting. I looked it up after i entered 1.5 million into the poll and found this: http://www.ppionline.org/ppi_ci.cfm?knlgAreaID=108&subsecID=900003&contentID=254624
They say 1.2 million killed from traffic. In Ireland there are approximately 350-400 killed every year out of a population of 4.1 million. Thats about 0.009% if my maths is any good....
