Just finished 18 hours of driving from Waynes' house to mine. Took over 250 pictures on the trip. Got to unpack, but lots of stories on the road and about HybridFest. ;)

Glad to hear you made it back.
You took 250 photos?

Besides uploading here at CleanMPG, you'll also see we are starting to compile photos via http://flickr.com/ I began by adding a few of Frisch41's pictures. If you want to add some of yours at flickr too, be sure to tag your uploaded photos with these two words
hybridfest 2006 (http://flickr.com/search/?q=hybridfest%202006&w=all)

Then eveyone will be able to easily search/find them in the future.

I notice there is a bit of lag berfore you'll find your photos via search. For example, Linda uploaded 12 more photos at 6:00 and they don't show up via the search engine yet. They must only refresh the keyword search periodically. Whjile you're waiting for hers to show up you can see them at http://www.flickr.com/photos/27608344@N00/

Hi Chuck:

___Did you take a nap sometime in the middle of the night or drive straight through? Talk about a Marathon man (you know what I mean ;))!!! Don’t worry about CleanMPG as I know you have to get to work tomorrow and you need some much needed rest. Tom will E-Mail me pics tonight sometime and I will begin uploading them with captions as I remember them. Take care of your pets and get some rest my friend.

___Good Luck

Hi Eric:

___From your link, I saw Linda’s other pics in her gallery and they are beautiful! I am not talking about HF here. Tell her she takes great photos of the flowers, her home, her father’s garden as well as others …

___Also, wait until you see the rest of what Chuck took! I was so busy I didn’t even get my camera from our room. Thank goodness Chuck was on the ball and just wait until you see his collage of the trip in, the Event, and even some from afterwards too. A great set if I do say so myself.

___Good Luck

Wayne,

I need an e-mail address to start sending attachments.

Started at 1:05 am, took 30 minutes taking night pictures of the Sears Tower, arrived in Lewisville at 7:15pm tonight. Cumulative breaks was about an hour - no naps. Have not check the trip meter but it was around 1,100 miles and 59.4mpg, cruising 70-75mph.

A couple of songs on the radio cracked me up, so a made little video clips of the dash or the road ahead as the tunes were playing (wish On The Road Again was one of them...)

Hey Chuck,

Glad to read that you made it home "Safely". You better get some sleep for the work day tomorrow.

I read where Wayne and you worked on some driving tips. He knows his business and I hope his knowledge base helps you out on your Insight FE in the Future.

Regards,

Terry

Preliminary mpg figures:

The round trip: 65mpg
First 475 miles hanging 10ft or less behind 18-wheelers at 70-75mpg: 73.4mpg (would have been 60mpg without drafting)
Wayne's 125-mile segment to Madison, Wisconsin: 93mpg (best road trip for my car)
The FE for the rest of the trip: about 60mpg
Total miles driven: 2,691 milesPictures to come.....
