I am completely confused about the health effects of EMF emissions from hybrid cars. I have placed an order for an 09 TCH and I love this technology. However, my wife is 15 weeks pregnant and I am perturbed about what I have read on other forums.
I'll be interested to hear your take on it?

EMFs are all around us in some degree or another. As for their effect on people I haven't read anything conclusive in regards to a link to birthdefects. A quick google search gave me this. (http://oem.bmj.com/cgi/content/full/59/2/92)

There's a lot of Jargon in that paper, but from what I read nothing was monumentally significant in the results. Also there were a number of other factors contributing to the results aside from the EMF itself (good and bad).

My guess is a Hybrid isn't going to put out nearly as much electromagnetic energy as some industrial equipment. Unless you're living under some high tension power-lines, running a microwave from the 1950s, you're probably ok.

An electrical engineer might be able to give a better idea of what kind of EMF output everyday appliances give off.
