Ha! Got your interest!!!! This thread is for a survey to see what serious interest there is in a Group Buy for the 2010 Toyota Prius (http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13329&highlight=2010+prius)

If you are 75+% sure you would be interested in a Group Buy on a 2010 Toyota Prius, add yourself to the the number count when you post. I have contacted a dealer about this and they are willing to consider. I originally mentioned a minimum of 5 units, but a larger number might have better bargaining power. At this point, no other details other than what I have mentioned are available. The one BIG option for the 2010 might be a plug-in.

Hi Mike:

___My parents already have a refundable deposit down on the Prius-III now and can move it to the Group Buy as soon as we arrange it ;)

___I will pass it by some Toyota people this coming week and see what they think :)

___Good Luck

I also have my deposit down on the Prius-III at my local dealership. I would want more details about a group buy. How would it work as far as options, delivery, etc.? Seems a bit more complicated than a SG...

Cool idea doing a Group Buy. I get mine for cost, so it doesn't matter on my end, but a great way to lower the price for others.

Hows it work if the group buy is in say NY, and someone wants one in Cali?

Logistics would have to be worked out. I would hope a decent price break. But I would hope that a group buy could turn into a fleet purchase for the first Prius that are to be released.

I'm in Southern Illinois so I will have to travel at any rate!

msirach--Absolutely brilliant idea.

Here's my uh, modest modification: According to one of Wayne's first posts on the 2010 Prius, the PHEV will be offered only to fleets for the first year or more (and would perhaps have the first LiIon batteries in a Prius!). To me, this option would be the giant appeal of a group buy--if Toyota agreed to treat a CleanMPG group of buyers as a fleet and offered us the PHEV far in advance of the general public. Upside for Toy, I think, would be our "activist" FE roots and our willingness to accurately & consistently track all sorts of data for them. It'd have to be cleared through the corporate offices rather than any one dealership, I'd bet, but maybe somebody more involved with CleanMPG and with more clout than I have would be interested in pursuing that (slim) possibility. I am, however, 100% interested in a PHEV Prius, you bet, that's one of the very few cars that would prompt me to sell my current wheels.

Now that is an excellent suggestion, Kinder. :D

I reread my initial post. I left that important detail. The PHEV is the one that I would want. :Banane45:

I would love to buy a new one but probably won't happen unless something crazy happens to my 04'.
I would be interested in a PHEV conversion for my 04'. 10K for the hymotion is way to high. Hopefully when the factory PHEV comes out the conversion will be alot cheaper. 5K and i'll drive to the nearest installer.

Wonder how much the install is?
Doesn't say how much extra the Lithium Iron batteries cost.

Guess I should email them.

Oh I'm definitely IN ON THIS. I'll check this thread regularly to see what kind of price break they can give us.

Maybe Dan can work his Toyota connection for a CleanMPG fleet purchase. I'd be interested if a PHEV option is available.

Wish I could join in on this, but I don't see the finance department putting up the money unless its a convertable.

Didn't I see a hack job convertible Prius a while ago?
