Anyone here using a '98 Pontiac Grand AM, with an SGII? If I fill my tank to the top, it leaks around the fuel pump, or I fill it about 90%, as a result, I don't get an accurate reading on the MPG on the Scan Gauge II. My offset is off, I leave it at 0, on the calibration, but I'd like to hear from someone who has the same car (3.1L Engine) as to what they have it set at.

Also, I can't seem to get rid of the 9999 while coasting, no matter what settings I enter.

Any tips will be appreciated, thanks.

I'd still like to know if there are any Grand Am drivers out there. Thanks. :)

I don't have a scanguage, but from the reading I've done on this forum getting 9999 while coasting is actually a good thing. If you're in gear then it means you're in Dfco. Basically, you're using no gas, but still moving. Doing the math mi/gal, any number of miles divided by 0 gallons of gas used is infinite and the way the scanguage represents that it by displaying 9999.

Did you try going to MORE>SETUP>FUEL>CUTOFF and change the value from 24 to 0?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no way I'm getting 9999 MPG, as the ICE is running. It was doing 9999 on my '05 Corolla, but I changed the appropriate settings and it's not done it since.

Project01SC2, Will have to check later, I did play with the settings, but I highly doubt it's at 0. I'll check when able, and post back.

I believe you're supposed to set the cutoff 4 more than something says at idle. That probably doesn't help much. I will try to look that up real quick.

Edit: I just checked on another post and according to that you should add 4 to what the TPS is at idle.

Hello damionk,

This is what I was going off of. My car does not have the fuel cuttoff feature.
