Hello! Been doing this hypermiling thing for a little over a month now. My friends and I are all impressed with the new mileage I am getting. Used to get 27mpg in my Stylus. I read a few hypermiling techniques and applied them to my daily drive and went from 27 to about 35mpg. Figured that wasn't enough, so I installed an engine kill and engine start buttons on my shifter and went from 35 to 45mpg! Not sure how I could squeeze anymore MPG out of this little thing, but maybe as I get better in my hypermiling it will just come. Would like to see 50mpg.
If everyone would just employ some of the techniques found here, not only would we all save fuel, but the roads would become a little less congested and the air a little cleaner.
I commend everyone here for trying no matter your motive, whether it be to save yourself some money or to save fuel and make the planet a better place. Keep up the good work!!!

welcome. nice to see another minnesota member, there are several on here. be sure to read the article on the hows and whys of hypermiling for more tips. don't be afraid to ask questions, and it would help to set up a mileage log.

Welcome to CleanMPG. Stories like yours make us smile.:) It sounds like you are off to a wonderful start. I'm not real familiar with MN but, if you are anywhere near Coon Rapids you seriously need to get in touch with Sean(Right Lane Cruiser) and set up a time for him to do a clinic with you. I think you would see your 50mpg goal much quicker and you may even surpass it.
Edit: Oops.:o: I forgot about Laurie.

You will need to set up a mileage log for your car in the "Mileage Logs". Once you have done that and after you have added your first tank, right click on the banner in your log and select "properties." Then copy the url address. Then go into your user control panel and select edit signature then paste the url you copied earlier and click save and you should be all set.

I want to point out that you will need to hold onto that level for 5,000 miles for the level to become official. Very nice work!
