I am trying to figure out the relationship between maximum sidewall rating and LRR tires.

I have seen some posters say their tires are rated at 44, mine are 51.

Is there any correlation between lower rolling resistance and higher max sidewall rating?

For a normal passenger car tire are there any rated higher than 51?
If so, what is the highest rated? Would these provide better fuel economy aired to
the rated max sidewall pressure?

Inquiring minds want to know,
Larry

Finally! Got it posted. This was a major rewrite. I wonder if I was using some prohibited word.

No, There is no relationship between tires with low RR and the maximum pressure listed on the sidewall of the tire.

First read this: http://www.geocities.com/barrystiretech/rrandfe.html

This explains the basics on RR.

Then read this: http://www.geocities.com/barrystiretech/loadtables.html

This explains the load / pressure relationship and about halfway through, it explains where the maximum sidewall pressures come from.
