I just had a physical, and it seems that I am going to require extensive treatment.

My wife made me go to the doctor and the doctor asked my wife if I was showing any unusual symptoms. The doctor then did a thorough examination and discovered that I was suffering from Nempimania. It seems that this is a growing affliction. Curiosly enough, the initial outbreak was first diagnosed right here in the US.

Please check out this. Here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypermiler) is an explanation of Nempimania. The description is about 3 paragraphs from the top of the article in terminology. If anyone has any tips, I would like to hear them.

I'm not familiar with that one. Is it similar to the Japanese diagnosed affliction, Nenpimania. It seems that those that have it seem to hang out together similar to leprosy!
:D

I heard that folks afflicted with Nempimania are sought after & highly prized in some circles. I think this "mania" is a good one to catch at this point in time. I say congrats to you!

Maybe you should get a job in the cafeteria at an automakers HQ. Then you could lick the silverwear and spread the affliction to all the execs.

I'd suggest the following to help your condition...
1. Take it easy, especially behind the wheel
2. Give yourself extra time to get places...you won't be as fast as you used to be
3. Be carefull of execess gas; Avoid foreign oil at all costs;

Nempimania (also Nenpimania) is an obsession with getting the best fuel economy possible from a hybrid car. It is derived from the Japanese "nempi" (燃費)--a contraction of nenryōshōhiryō (燃料消費量)[4] meaning fuel economy, and mania, meaning "craze for." Nempimania is exhibited by owners of the Toyota Prius and other hybrid owners by various habits aimed at maximizing fuel economy: slow starts, "Pulse and Glide", timing stoplights, driving barefoot, etc.

That's a new one.

Apparently the virus is transforming and is finding new hosts among non-hybrid owners.

UNCLEAN!!! UNCLEAN!!!! I too am infected. I started noticing the familar symtoms -
- Travelling judged 'lethargic' by those not infected.
- Excess gas (ooooh - really bad pun).
- Dramatically reduced thirst.
- Enlarged billfold and abnormally low Visa balance.
- Procotologists forever closely examining, yet cannot find the cure.

I hear that Priuscillin only makes it worse.

That also carries the symptom of knotted-up, stiff muscles
in the right leg, correct?

The best cure for Nempimania is to cut down on your consumption by getting an EV. Then the pain and suffering will dissipate, along with most of those large (gas) bills. ;)

I hear there are cases popping up all over, mostly by word of mouth and a congregation by NET and WEB traps.

my worst symptom is forgetfulness....of where the gas stations are :)
