Hello.

I have been driving my Jeep for a couple of years now and was consistantly getting 15-16MPG. After reading about hypermiling in the news, this site and others my mileage has gone up to 20-21mpg. The biggest change I have made was slowing down. Driving 55 instead of 70-75. Hopefully I can keep improving.

Welcome to the site, be sure to read Wayne Gerdes article on hypermiling. it is sufficient to explore any of those techniques and you will continue to grow as i am. BTW i am a newbie so not much advise for you but to go with this site, i love it. if you are close to people on this site they may offer a clinic for you so you can get better at HM ing.

Hi MGMatt, welcome to CleanMPG!

Congrats on the 20-21 MPG, a 30% improvement is a great start!

As Ikea mentioned, be sure to read Wayne's article "Beating the EPA", the link is at the bottom of my signature.

Also consider buying a ScanGauge (Link on the left), it is a great way to get real-time feedback on how your doing to see what works with your vehicle.

Make sure your tires are pumped up to their sidewall pressure, it's a great way to pick up a few MPGs and increase the life of your tires.

Feel free to ask questions and get involved in the community by filling out a mileage log for your Wrangler (Link on the left).
