Dellanator

My parents live in Florida and drive a Mercedes - not too eco friendly and frankly, they never cared about gas mileage. However, on a recent trip up to lovely Jersey to visit me and my boyfriend, CoasterToaster, they were given a little hypermiling 101. My dad seemed interested and impressed with our results, but honestly, I never thought he would go home and apply any of this newfound knowledge to his own driving.
I was wrong!
The other day my father called saying he increased his tire pressure, slowed down his driving overall, turned the car off at long lights, and even turned off the AC (which is hard to do in Florida!). He got 25 mpg, which is pretty good for his 4-wheel drive car. Now it's a game for him to see how well he can do every tank. Go Dad!
This makes me feel positive that with a little knowledge and assistance, we can help do our part by spreading the word about better driving and saving fuel. If it worked for my dad, it can really work with anyone! ;)
