View Full Version : Getting the best price on a car?

Let's say I've done my research, driven a few cars at the dealership, run the numbers, and decided on a car to buy.

How do I get the best price for said car? Should I make low offers at the dealerships and hope they bite? Is there a best day of the month, or month of the year to buy? Are there internet options for buying cars at reduced prices? My insurer (USAA) offers a car-buying service; is using services such as this a good way to go?

Thanks.

December is the best time to shop because a lot of cars on their lot are about to be last year's model.

I also have USAA and was thinking about using them for my new car purchase. I wonder if you can bring the offer for the vehicle to another dealer and see if they can match the price?
