I was in my blue Aveo going home from from and found myself behind a Silver Matrix as we went up an on ramp onto I-94 toward Wisconsin. The driver was going pretty slow and kept gesturing at the other cars building up behind to take the left lane and drive around. So of course, I settled in behind and made a hypermile convoy, along with a red Toyota of some variety that seemed to be doing the same thing behind me. Just wondered if they were anybody here. :)

Just filled up my tank and got my second >36.5 tank, which is over 120% of my combined EPA. I'm feeling pretty good about that!

Sounds like it could be Daox. Were you near Milwaukee at the time?

Nope... not me, but I was driving behind a car the other day and it was going slow. I stayed behind until we went down a great coasting hill, and the guy maintained the super slow speed, screwing up my glide, so I had to pass (if I keep the momentum nice, it takes my up the next hill and down the next slope without going back into gear...) turns out it was just a really old guy LOL...

I always do wonder when I see people going slow now. And I do come across a few here and there, suprisingly enough, considering NJ seems to be one of the speed capitals of the world.

___If I am ever in WI. (like last night), I hope to find you on the road as well so we can form our own right lane hypermiling cruise. I was out on I-94 between the border and Racine just after midnight while performing the Speed vs. Mpg runs in the new Corolla but that is not quite the same situation or solution :(

I'm sure he will log in soon & let everyone know .... but I think Daox's Matrix is black. I remember looking at photos of his grill block.

Nikki, I think you are correct. I should have remembered that because I've rode in his car before.:o It does sound like his style of driving though.:cool:

It was the 173/41 onramp, just south of the Wisconsin border, so still about 40 miles out of Milwaukee.

Perhaps the world will never know.... :)
