When I go into neutral to glide downhill after a few times I get a CEL. When I check the code it comes up as an O2 sensor. I changed the sensor and it happened again. I can clear the CEL by disconnecting the Batt. but this gets old real quick:cool: Is this just a "Ford" thing or what

Some cars have two sensors, one prior to the Catalytic Converter, one after. Others may have two near the engine. Could yours have two?

That is correct.. The OBD code specifies which one. In my case it is the one after the convertor

Next question, can the Catalytic Converter be the culprit (although it isn't that old).

 OH MY!!!! I hope not..I have slept on last night and I think maybe the gentleman at the parts counter may have misread the info on the code. I checked an on-line manual and found that the sensor he sold me is not called a sensor at all but a cat. conv. module so I will return today for a 2nd opinion...

Hope it's not your cat, mine are 3600.00 for both on the insight. Nox buildup at lower rpm's causes cat's to cool off and need more fuel to heat up cat and purge nox, how's your tailpipe smell? It's been said o2 sensors should be replaced when plugs are. Seems costly but how costly is an 1800.00 cat. Or as Cleanmpg forum has said, how much sulfur is in your fuel, seems that ar 2000.00/oz for platinum they tend to want to use more paladium at 400.00/oz or titanium to burn the nox off, either way it's costly to over hypermile with wrong fuel or not tuned up.
