Thought you guys may get a kick out of this. Jim is quite a accomplished famous/infamous designer (opinions vary!) that I have done flight testing for on a few of his designs. Jim designed this "car/motorcycle" well over 20 years ago. For those of you who don't know who Jim is, he designed the BD- series of aircraft, the most famous of which was the BD-5, which many people would recognize as the "Budweiser" or "Coors" jet, and was flown through a hangar in one of the James Bond movies. No matter what anyone says about Jim, he has always been well ahead of his time as a designer and he continues shows the world what can be done...

I would love to see someone to modernize the idea with more efficient engines and electronics.

Cool vehicles.

It does look like some new ones are coming out:

Not bad.

I'd like to see what would happen if Burt Rutan set Scaled Composites loose on a car.

Exactly. I have a few engineer friends who worked on a couple of Bede projects then went to work for Burt, including working on the X-Prize project. I had the pleasure of working out in Mojave quite a few years ago and seeing his operation. Theres a guy/group who know how to make something happen.

Would love to see him jump on the XPrize for cars. We could get available, practical, usable versions within two years!
