Looking at what people perceive as the additional cost of buying a Hybrid car is sad.

This is what the Canadian government says about the HCH:

First offered in Canada for the 2003 model year, the Honda Civic Hybrid is available from any Honda dealership for about $10,000 more than a regular Civic. It has a 1.3-litre, four-cylinder engine. Its fuel consumption rating is 4.9 L/100 km in the city and 4.6 L/100 km on the highway. It is the same size and comes with the same features as a gasoline powered Honda Civic.

The HCH sells in Canada for the equivalent to $22,434. I sent them an eMail asking where in Canada can I buy a gasoline powered Honda Civic with the same features as the Hybrid for $13,739 (???).

Reading this article I'm wondering where I can get a Civic with the same features of the hybrid for $13,739.

It sure would be a bargain if I can get all the options that the hybrid has standard.

The site to configure a Civic puts me at $17,185 (without installation o charges for the options which are part of the standard hybrid version.) this is much more than $13,739 your article lead me to believe I would pay.

My calculations are that your numbers were off by $5,000.

I am dismayed that I can't get automatic climate control and some of the other standard hybrid features.

Can you please help me configure a car so I can get one equal in most respects to the hybrid but at only $14,000?

Found this out on another forum. The reserve for the "HondaSucks.ca" Insight has been met (not accepting more bids - not obligated to sell it). Forum states the bidders were fraudulent - this was simply a Honda/hybrid-bashing exercise. :mad:

maybe he blew all his savings on it? that's why he's pulling all the shots!

Later on I'm going to detail my Insight treatment - I have been no angel to it early on ( :o ), yet it would seem that way compared to Mr. HS' Insight.

Finally got around to reading his latest reply to me and I actually laughed! His selective hearing made him look ridiclous. I'll crudely paraphrase it:

"If you oppose my right disrupt a club, church or convention - go to your kind of society: North Korea"

I realize there is a thin line between vigilentee and behaving like the trolls you despise. I'm leaning towards reserving a reply only if it's particulary bad. What I'd likely say is....

Mr HS, why don't you set up your own forum for like-minded hybrid skeptics?
