Congrats Chevy. It's great to hear car companies promoting fuel economy instead of 0 to 60 times.

It's about time that GM did something to help themselves but how is 25/36 a higher rating than 26/35, and how does the Cobalt's 25/36 not share the "top of the class" rating with the Civic's identical 25/36?

WOW,and HOW?? Did Chevy change to a different motor?Around here you could buy a 2007 Cobalt -new-for $11,995-dirt cheap! If the new Cobalt sells for close to the same, it will suddenly be a much better bet than the Focus.

How did they do it?? I wish they made a Cobalt stationwagon with a MT, or an extended hatch (like the Maxx).

Congrats to Chevy- almost beating the Civic-never less than $17,000-and the Corolla-occasionally advertised for $13,995-is a HUGE victory.

Hot on the heals of the 6 speed 4 cyl Malibu-not bad!!Wish there was a 4 cyl Malibu stationwagon.

Didn't we discover this way back when that guy posted the Honda ad with the MPG numbers in the ad, and I looked up the Chevy number for equivalents?

Nice. Props to GM for making they first good decision in a while.

But will it last as long as a Honda without problems? On another forum a member bitched about his dying 1996 Cavalier and all it's problems at 203,000 miles.

I'd rather have a 4dr Civic EX. It's sexier looking too!

So far I've been looking at lots of car ads and I never see a Cobalt XFE for sale! I just think it's a major GM bragging gimmick. Same goes for the 4 cyl 6speed auto Malibu that's better FE than a Camry or Accord!
