I bought my 2008 AWD FEH last week. The vehicle is claiming 30.4 MPG, but I haven't filled it up yet, so we will see.

I was glad to find this site. I had already discovered several of the facts relating to the EV, namely that the FEH starts out in EV even though the Tach indicates the ICE is running, and that you can kill the ICE by tapping the brakes below 35 MPH or so. My previous car was a Freestyle (with CVT), so I was already aware that lifting the throttle would cause the engine to lower the RPMs.

I'm looking forward to seeing just how well the MPG goes, though I don't know if I will go "all the way" into the P&G, etc.

Wayne-
Greetings. I don't imagine you recall, but we have had some chats over on Edmunds a few years ago.

Yes, I have read most of the threads, including Gary's excellent articles. For the break in period I'm going to take it fairly easy. I'll decide how far I want to go down the hypermiler path after that. I definitely want to beat EPA, which is only 29 city for the AWD.
