I frequent the the genvibe forum here and there. It seems to be mostly guys wanting to eek more power out of the 'underpowered' 1.8L engines in their Vibe/Matrix. There is also an above normal amount of talk of gas mileage as this is the main reason a lot of people bought their car. So, I thought I'd share a recent thread where someone asked if people were willing to slow down to get better gas mileage. I was actually surprised with the positive responses.

I'll probably give cleanMPG a plug in the next day or so now that there seems to be some interest in it.

I have been doing it. My speed is just kept at the posted limits, which is 10 to 20 mph slower than what most people drive. You'd think gas was still selling for 50 cents per gallon, judging by the fast starts and high speeds I see every day.
It'll be interesting this comming summer. I know a few guys looked into the mileage sites when I posted a poll last fall asking if they thought I could get 50 mpg out of my Matrix. There was quite a bit of debate, but there was lots of interest in it. Now that its getting to be warm out its really going to be time to stretch my legs and see what the Matrix can do since I'll be driving it more often.
Hi Tim:
___Nice job! What I see happening is even modders and rodders are feeling the pinch and since they are usually 20 something’s without a lot of backing, there hobby is being seriously curtailed. A lot less cruising and lot more parking with the stories being passed around vs. the gasoline being consumed … Which is a good thing, right ;)
___Good Luck
