Here is a couple sites that show/explain a few things I am involved in. This to the best of my knowledge the only E85 powered Rat Rod in America http://cleverlever99.blogspot.com Please consider reading the links.
This is another blog about an interesting concept applicable to a variation of the Atkinson Cycle Engine. http://modifiedatkinsoncycleengine.blogspot.com/
Hope some of you find this interesting

Hi Cob:
___What I am really interested in is E85 performance and FE when used in an ICE designed with a 9.x:1 A/F ratio and a compression ratio of let say 13:1 +. How much of the lesser energy content E85’s FE can be made up for with a properly designed Ethanol based ICE vs. the non-optimized FFV’s put out by Ford and GM? In other words, can you make up the 20 - 30% FE hit on E85 with a properly designed ICE and maintain a similar HP output as well?

E85, in my opinion, is a step backwards unless it is used with an elevated Atkinson expansion ratio. The Only think good to say about E85 is it makes a ton of power in conjunction with high compression. The easiest way to get up to speed on this is to put E85 and Prius in a search and look at all the data. Even the subject of making E85 is controversial as to if its a net gain of energy. In general I will say the people getting the subsidy think its the salvation of the world and consumers rarely purchase a second tank.
