It will be succeeded by "little monsters" like the H3, H4. (http://blogs.motortrend.com/6232210/hummer/is-the-hummer-h2-dead-if-not-does-it-need-to-die/index.html)

This embedded YouTube of a Walker: Texas Ranger segment of an H3/bike chase just east then south of downtown Dallas just reinforces the mentality of the Hummer target market. - Ed

Rumors are spreading like wildfire about the future of the Hummer H2. Some have reported the boxy full-size SUV was to be overhauled relatively soon, getting an updated and heavy-duty-ized GMT900 platform -- the one that currently exists underneath the new Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Yukon XL, Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Avalanche, Silverado 1500, Sierra 1500, and Sierra Denali. Others are saying GM will kill the beast (or fashion statement) as soon as three years from now. Currently, the Hummer H2, as well as the Suburban 2500 and Yukon XL 2500, still use a version of the previous-generation GMT800 platform, providing GM with some cost savings along with the ability to cater to a shrinking, yet profitable, tow/haul vehicle segment… http://blogs.motortrend.com/6232210/hummer/is-the-hummer-h2-dead-if-not-does-it-need-to-die/index.html

I like the comment about strength and capability. This is for the high centered gentrified version with less towing capacity and lower FE than even an F-150, correct? Along with next to no interior space or offroad ability?

Time for people to realize that bigger isn't always better and that expensive doesn't mean macho.

I'd love for somebody to be crooning about their hummer's capabilities, only to have one of the following pull up-

1) Loaded Work/farm truck hauling its max payload or more, and 2 guys pour out of the cab (4 for a crew cab)
2) Work truck pulling 10000lb+ ala the F-Series commercials
3) SUV/Jeep with dings in the door and a rusted winch on the front with vegetation and mud all over. A field crew hops out and starts unloading enough stuff to make a circus jealous.

Basic message- How do you like me now? ;)

If that had been Chuck in the Hummer, he could have made the jump, caught the kid on the dirtbike, and driven through a power station on the way home and morphed the Hummer into a 900 MPG 500 HP electric/martial arts hybrid of mega-ass-whooping power.

Sorry, your mistake was referencing Chuck Norris.
