It's the size of a motorcycle and has three wheels and enough room for only a driver. Some affectionately call it a "pizza butt."
But Dana Myers sees more in his Tallmadge-built electric vehicles. He sees a way to apply his religious faith to making the world a better place.
"God put us down here and said, Rule over the Earth,' " Myers said. "How do we want to rule over it? Do we want to just despoil it, or do we want to make it as nice a place as we can?"
The president of Myers Motors believes replacing gasoline-powered vehicles with electric ones can make the world a cleaner, nicer place. And he sees his odd-looking NmG (No more Gas) vehicle as a steppingstone to making that happen.
"It's just at the very beginning of the market where electric vehicles can be a sustainable business," Myers said.
Electric vehicles already fill niche markets, such as golf carts and forklifts. Myers said his vehicle fits the niche of a commuter vehicle -- a small, secondary car to use only for going to and from work.
"We want to be in one of those niches for a consumer vehicle so we can grab a piece of the pie for when the pie starts growing," Myers said.
But it hasn't been an easy path.
Myers was running S.D. Myers Corp., his family's successful electrical transformer business, in 2003 when he became interested in electric vehicles.
At the time, California's Corbin Motors was going out of business.
