While snowboarding at Mount Rose Ski Tahoe this morning I was sitting on my butt at the Lakeview lift's exit point while setting my rear binding in anticipation of a run. It was about 15F up there at 10,000 feet.
All of a sudden the sun rose up behind me and I could feel its warmth on my back, even through 3 layers of clothing. I turned around and saw a perfect vision. A yellow sun coming through old pine trees backed by a deep blue sky dotted with high altitude cloud wisps, with snow covering the ground in front. The sun warmed my face as I soaked it all in, and to punctuate everything Pachelbel's "Canon in D" came on my solar powered MP3 player just then. :woot:
I was so relaxed and content after this that I had my first crash-free snowboard run of the Kit Carson Bowl (blue/intermediate difficulty), which was my goal for the day. :Banane09:
