View Full Version : Aluminum pellots and Hydrogen owlmaster08 05-18-2007, 03:06 PM Anyone see this article? http://www.reuters.com/article/scienceNews/idUSN1739378820070518 Chuck 05-18-2007, 03:10 PM I have noticed, but not read it thru. First question - aluminum for car bodies and chassic is relativly expensive - wouldn't this also apply to using it as a fuel? owlmaster08 05-18-2007, 03:48 PM Yes it would be, but the aluminum is recycled it says. Only the hydrogen from the water is used. Cost effectiveness would be the question c0da 05-19-2007, 08:29 AM It sounds nice an all, but here in Las Vegas we are starting to run dangerously low on water. We have lawn watering curfews and people get fined for washing their car in the driveway. It might work for some places, but not here. Pravus Prime 05-21-2007, 09:44 PM Not to mention the power output. For an exagerated example, if 3 lbs of Aluminum and Gallium only yield enough hydrogen to power the vehicle for 32 seconds, you'll still be back to the same problems. vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
