Hi All:

___I am wondering if anyone is familiar with a site listing stations where I can fill a diesel with B20 in or around Santa Rosa, NM, between Tulsa, OK and Joplin, MO, and again between St. Louis, MO and Springfield, IL? I have a long drive event coming up and have the option of filling w/ B20, (one of my favorite blends), if I can find the stations near or between the destinations listed.

___Thanks in advance.

Wayne-

Link to IL Biodiesel Station list with blends (http://www.biodiesel.org/buyingbiodiesel/retailfuelingsites/default.shtm)

Have fun.

The link above is useful, but not entirely complete. You probably will find more stations that offer it. None of the lists I found have added a couple of stations that I know added biodiesel tanks last summer. Here is another incomplete list link (http://www.biodiesel.org/buyingbiodiesel/retailfuelingsites/). Dispensers that let you choose any blend are becoming more widespread, so you may have an opportunity to experiment along the way.

Hi Marc and Rich:

___Thanks for the links!

___It looks like I can fill up w/ B20 at Ever-Ready Oil in Albuquerque late on Day 1.

___Day 2 is going to be rough as OK is essentially B20 free and KS/MO has stations north of my intended route up around Topeka, Kansas City and Independence. I did not see anything along the I44 corridor unfortunately :(

___On Day 3, as soon as I cross into IL, there are quite a few B11 stations including one on the way in Morris, IL but few that offer B20. I will do some more looking around and hopefully something will pop up in the panhandle of Texas or along I-40 in OK somewhere?

___This vehicle has an ~ 700-mile range with the small tank and Day 2 looks like I am not going to be able to make it to Topeka/Kansas City from Albuquerque even if I decide to take the Northern detour.

___Thanks again!

Hi Wayne, here's two more sites that could be helpful:
http://findbiodiesel.org/
http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=136933

The TDIClub list is kind of old so it would probably be best to double check by calling or something. Hope that helps.

Looking at the map you could manage to take the 54/400 route from Tucumcari NM (east of Albuquerque) to Wichita KS where there is a station according to the findbiodiesel site.
From there it is I35 to Kansas City and I70 to St. Louis.

But I am also the one that doesn't take I44 from Tulsa to Joplin.

EDIT: NM: They only sell B2....

If you want to come thru Wichita, send me an address on the station here and I'll confirm the pump exists...

Hi All:

___Even if I take that Northern route, I am not going to have the range between Albuquerque and Central KS let alone all the B2/B5 stations :( If I had the base 37.5 gallon tank, I could make it :ccry:

___What I am thinking now is maybe I can find 15-gallons of ASTM certified B100 in or around Phoenix and mix it with the appropriate amount of diesel already placed in the tank while at the pump? Anyone know of certified B100 in or around Phoenix? I can purchase some plastic fuel cans at a local Wal-Mart possibly?

___Good Luck

Western States Petroleum by Sky Harbor/City Center or Arizona Biodiesel by Phoenix-Mesa Gateway/Gilbert.

Both have B99 according to the link in my OP.

Hi All:

___Since I will be leaving in just a few hours, I believe I have the Biodiesel supply location completed. I called both retail Biodiesel locations in the Phoenix area and both open early so picking up 15 to 20-gallons for the trip back will not be a problem.

___For night two, Ford has us in Glendale, AZ which is just 11-miles from one of the B99 facilities. On Friday morning, I will head to a local Wal-Mart or HW Store, pick up 4-5-gallon fuel containers, a 2 qt. measuring cup and head to:

Western States Petroleum
450 S. 15th Ave
Phoenix, AZ 85007
Phone: 602-252-4011
Open M-F @ 06:00 AM

___I hope I do not make too much of a mess trying to mix 22.4 gallons of straight diesel with 5.6 gallons of biodiesel (or the 80% Diesel/20% Bio-Diesel equivalent) while on the road…

___Thank you all for your help as this should be very interesting :)

If you cut the bottoms out of disposable plastic water bottles you can easily make disposable funnels to simplify your mixing. You usually can find a bottle or three in station trash cans.

Have fun.

There are a lot of the Illinois Green Fleet stations in Illinois. Illinois Green Fleet Stations (http://www.illinoisgreenfleets.org/biodiesel/stations.html)

Just thought of this: So what do you do when you pull in for a fillup and see a sticker on the tank saying it could be anywhere from B5 to B20? Maybe that's only in the great state of Illinois....

Oh well. Good luck.

Oh yeah, and put the Bio in first, then fill with petro diesel. At least that's what they tell you to do for other additives.

Hi All:

___I stopped in at Western States Petroleum in Phoenix but they were closed on Saturday so I had to drive to AZ Biodiesel in Gilbert, AZ. Once there, I purchased 17 gallons in containers plus added 5.6 gallons to the truck and topped her off at a Chevron before leaving Gilbert, AZ.

___Mixing on the road was kind of kludge as my funnel was not big enough to stop me from spilling a few ounces on the second fill in particular. At least it was B99 instead of petroleum diesel

___Having only to fill the 28-gallon tank twice including 11.0 gallons of B99 on the way back home left me with 6-gallons of B99 left over which I gave to Nathan. I hope it is working well in his 01 Duramax ;)

___All said, a huge thank you to all for the Biodiesel map as that is what put me into contact with the AZ Biodiesel guys and the knowledge I would have to carry my own B99 for mixing on the way home. With B20 compatibility arriving in any number of diesel trucks, hopefully we will see many more B20 stations in the future.

___Good Luck
