To whom controls the mileage logs,

Could the mileage log be modified so that it can be a fuel/expense log also?

Take a single date entry of x.xxx number of gallons times fuel cost per gallon for that entry and add to all other like entries within a specified date range.

Say from Jan 01 2009 to Dec 31 2009, this way it could be a useful tool to see what yearly fuel expenses have been spent on a particular vehicle.

You could use the log as a record keeping tool with expenses automatically totaled.

You could have an actual cost per mile for a specified date range, by dividing the cost by the miles. I know my fuel costs are improving.

I think it would be a beneficial tool and a nice addition to the resources this site provides to it's members.

Not being knowledgeable about site usage costs I might be asking for something that could be a drain on bandwidth, labor, etc. Forgive my ignorance if it is.

Hi, Dale -- that's an interesting request. Space is at a premium with the amount of info being shown on the screen right now (Holy Columns, Batman!!) and I'd have to come up with a way to deal with missing cost info.

I'll ruminate on it. ;)

Sean,
Thanks for considering it. What if instead or in addition to the price per gallon there was an entry for total cost for the entire tank? This way if I put in the gallons used and tank cost I'll be providing the required info already being collected and the info I'm requesting.

No response necessary, just throwing out thoughts. - Dale
