Hi Dan:

___The last I had read, Honda is still at least 2 and more then likely 3 + years away from a Tier II/Bin 5 capable iCDTi :( Even after meeting the EPA specs, will they will place it in the Civic vs. the Euro Accord (TSX here) or an 8th gen future Accord is another unknown?

___Good Luck

I would save my pennies for a TSX if it could be had with a diesel and the right transmission.

Hi Terry:

___Although I do not agree with your choice of the Si (its FE and ride suck :(), I thought you would comment on the inclusion of XM in the NAVI package(s)?

___Tom, Eric, and I saw the 8th gen Si Coupe in similar garb when it was released at the Chicago Autoshow early last year and it was far to Boy Racer for me … I mean why would a car today need to have a wing on the back? Absolutely makes no sense whatsoever

Hi Terry:

___I could not find a good list of Si sales to the std. EX/LX/DX breakdown but Honda is not doing that well with the Civic lineup in total vs. last year (down 12% vs. the same time frame last year but up overall 10% year over year). I do not think the Si is doing all that well given the old Si was way overpriced and you never saw them on the lots. Similar to today? I will do some snooping over at ToV to see if I can find some 8th gen Si sales numbers to compare too.

Hi Terry:

I'm am sure Honda is more concerned about the 10,000-15,000 Civic Si sales than they are the 300,000-400,000 Civic EX/LX/DX sales.
___Certainly of no value when it comes to sales numbers or facts, the following thread was quite interesting wrt the Boy racer stuff.

Wayne,

It may just my opinion. However in the past I have owned a number of the Honda Si's and the thing that was always discussed was the following:

This more to do with the Older-Si's:

No rear doors
No Nav.
No X/M Sat. Radio
No High End Sound System
No Auto Climate Control
Lack of real power

Now this 2007 Si will have everything including Not Bad FE for the Performance Available. Not certainly the FE of the Civic Hybrid but still not bad at 30 + MPG Hwy.
I just really think that it will sell really well for those that want a smaller 4-door sedan with pretty good performance with really not bad FE. The wing could go: But the rest of the car as a whole I think is a Great Package with Honda Reliability, (IMO) of course.

Goes without saying it is not for everyone but then what single vehicle that has been produced is for everyone.

BTW, I personally still have some of that {Boy-Racer} in me. :D

Wayne,

I know this is just going to Kill my Reputation some (If-I-Have-Any-Hear) but when I was young like I suspect most of those Post are done by I was just as Bad if Not-Worse. Then you did not have the traffic we have now but I and the majority of my friends were street racers. That is just what we did. Cars-Cars-Cars that is really all we cared about. No real alcohol, drugs Etc. but it was all about Very-Fast-Cars. So here I am a or getting to be an "OLDER-MAN" and reading those post by these Very young WILD PEOPLE and thinking back to when I was doing the same thing if "Not-Worse". Man things change as we get older and think more safely and the concern of others on the highways.

So, I guess I will try not to come down to hard on them as I was no better in my Youth than they are today. I hope they live to get older and meanwhile don't get others Hurt or Killed in the mean time until they like me get older and drive more {Safely} and take other drivers into consideration.

Terry

BTW, Was wild on the streets as a young man.
