Joliet, Illinois - A lot of things have to fall into place, but if all goes according to plan, top executives of General Motors Corp. are hoping the automaker will start making money again in 2010, Vice Chairman Bob Lutz said Thursday.

Lutz, however, would not make a firm prediction on a return to profitability.

GM's dismal executive management is what has put them where they are now and I do not think they will get out of it until they get rid of the executives who have been making tragically wrong decisions for years.

The first step towards profitability would be to can Lutz. Luddite Lutz is hardly a beacon in the darkness.
