Once again, hypermilers met in Cypress in the NW Greater Houston area.

The nice thing these days is quite a few Prius have been sighted deep in the heart of Texas, including this one in Spring (http://www.cleanmpg.com/photos/showphoto.php/photo/6904/cat/533).

Agenda included 100 points of hypermiling.

Clinics were held afterwards.

Chuck,
Great job with the labeling and Plexiglass!.
How did you do the outlines? Like the white outline around the MDM. or the black outlines?
Also, do you have files you can share that have with the explanations you printed up? You really got them good sizes for the components.
I'd like to have something like this for the Madison hybrid Group monthly Cruise Nights.

Eric,

I used pinstripes to outline the various components...after the fact the white seems to stand out much better than the black.

I will put plexiglass on the end in the comming weeks to completely "kid-proof" the traction assembly.

The plexiglass was under $25 at the Home Depot - it is just enough to cover the top and the side. The side (end) will require more work as the heat sink fan sticks out.

Dang, that was quick. Thanks a ton Chuck. I'll really need some lessons on climbing those Insight gears. Have you had a try converting your speedo to metric? It really shows changes in speed a lot quicker that way.

If work was not so hectic, it would have been posted this morning.

Notice the Prius video?

The white pinstripes is a nice addition to really highlight the components.
I think it will make it easier when explaining things to people. Now if the plexiglass were strong enough to keep in permanently, it could be ready for "show" all the time.

Although I do like the factory cover which has a warning sticker that basically says "You Will Be Killed" if you remove the cover.
