Yesterday was a record commute in the CR-V.
All city, 18-20kms, 6.7 in, 6.2 out. That is WAAAY up there -- 174% of EPA! :woot: As you can tell by my sig, I'm fighting the weight of winter and my learning curve...
My wife is doing great too. She drove a fresh (viz. unweighted) tank around, all day, shopping with her mom, and brought it back reading 8.3 -- that's all city again. Good job, babe!
I think we're finally starting to figure out what works.

Excellent work, Tom! That looks to be right about 36.5mpg US, right? :woot:

Holy crap! You're right! I hadn't figured it out! I just know that 30 is 7.8 or so, so I was guestimating somewhere in the low 30s.
36 and a half! That's better than I could have imagined, even 2 weeks ago! WOOT indeed! Now I just gotta get consistent, and turn trips into tanks!
Excellent job. I'm assuming it is still fairly chilly up there in God's country, so you will probably see even more of an increase. Wow!

Yup still below freezing in the mornings, single digits in the afternoons. Daily swings in the 20-45 F range. Can't wait for the higher morning temps!

You are giving me great hope! My first and only tank so far, using no hypermiling techniques got me just shy of 24 mpg. I've been drafting\coasting as much as possible on the current tank and I plan on bumping up the tire pressure this afternoon. I'll see what kind of changes that gives, but now I have a higher target to shoot for...
What techniques to you find yourself using the most, or that you find particularly effective or useful with the CR-V?

Those trips the temps were as high as they've been lately, and all the lights turned in my favour. I use Nice-on/P&G/DWB constantly. I have 3 or 4 FASes on that trip each way if I'm lucky. Mostly I just get up to speed and avoid stopping. Then I potential park, face out, with the sun on the hood. As you can imagine, some of this is pretty environmental. Once you know what to look for you find what works. Given that you just got here and your average is already higher than mine I'd imagine you'll do alright...
