View Full Version : Is the Honda diesel going into Acura vehicle Also? 98Contour 04-02-2008, 09:09 AM Rumor has it that the RDX or MDX will get a diesel. Is this true? PaleMelanesian 04-02-2008, 09:40 AM I believe it was for the TSX and possibly others to follow. xcel 04-02-2008, 09:44 AM Hi 98Countour: ___There will be a 3.0L coming and probably for the MDX. The TSX will be the first in the US to get the 2.2L iDTEC. I do not know what Acura will be doing with the RDX but looking at the last three months of sales data, they had better do something because the entire lineup is sinking like a stone in water. ___Good Luck ___Wayne Compaq888 04-03-2008, 01:40 AM I've seen the new TSX and I got to say they styling is going to crap...The front is almost exactly the same as the SUV.. xcel 04-03-2008, 02:22 AM Hi Compaq888: ___Here you go: Honda previews the upcoming next gen 09 Fit, releases 09 TSX (http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9425) ___As for the next gen iDTEC, there was an Italian site that posted about an upcoming Euro Civic RS using the new 2.2L iDTEC with upwards of 180 HP and 320 Lb-Ft. of torque. Since that time, the Euro Accord (TSX) w/ iDTEC base details has been released. ___Like the 2.2L iCDTi predecessor, the new 2.2L i-DTEC engine is compact, lightweight, refined and quiet in operation. It employs the latest piezoelectric multi-stage fuel injection technology, more efficient exhaust gas recirculation and a particulate filter for significantly reduced emissions. At the same time both power and torque levels have been increased for a sportier driving experience. Output is 10 HP greater at 148 HP at the same 4,000 rpm, while peak torque is now 258 Lb-Ft at 2,000 rpm. ___Good Luck ___Wayne Compaq888 04-05-2008, 03:22 PM you know even when they bring the diesel acura over here and it's efficient and everything but we still depend on gas to drive these cars...I don't want to be negative but they still win. Yea we are going to get some fuel efficient cars but the oil companies will still raise their gas prices and we end up where we began. My next car either is going to be an electric or a plug in hybrid...I seriously can't comprehend paying somebody DMV fees, insurance, and gas to drive MY CAR. vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
