I'm thinking of a show like Dr. Phil or Dr. Laura.

He laments of paying over $100 to fillup
When he is "going slow", it's only 10mph over the posted limit
He weaves in traffic, race to stop lights, gets up to highway speed in ten seconds.
His Ford Expedition is so agile he can take a freeway exit at 60mph 50 yards out swirving over two lanes while talking on the phone.
He is single
Swap for a Prius? About like cross-dressing!
Oil prices are solely a Bush/Exxon/Saudi Royal Family price fixing conspiracy (something like that)
Does the winner on the show get an Escalade?

How about Survivor: Fuel Shortage? At the beginning of the show the contestants are given $5000 to buy used cars, but not told what the car will have to do. It is then revealed that they will get $20/day for gas, and each day must complete a segment of increasing distance to complete some kind of "challenge." You run out of gas, you're off the convoy. Gas money may be saved in order to buy out of a challenge for a set price, but may not be used to buy gasoline another day. Wayne and Dan may or may not guest star on the "H-2-Gallon Challenge" episode. I leave the rest to your imagination.

If the media made a campaign spoofing gas guzzlers, it might make a dent on the "coolness" factor. There are lots of skits Saturday Night Live could do to poke fun at poseurs:

SNL Guest: I drive a Prius

SNL Poseur: I drive a Penius
