Strange situation and not an April Fool but the price of gasoline and diesel in Japan dropped about a $1/gallon (25Yen/L) from $5.50/gal after a "temporary" tax expired on March 31st. Efforts by the Japanese government to make the tax permanent were filibustered by the opposition parties. The government vows to have the tax back in place by the end of the month so it is probably only a temporary reprieve. I doubt this will have much effect on overall gasoline consumption.
To make the situation even a little sillier the prices of milk, beer and other essentials rose by 5-10% overnight due to the increased costs of fuel.:(

Let the hoarding begin! I'd fill up a few barrels for later use...

An Irish government committee is today going to "discuss" the rising cost of diesel which has traditionally been cheaper than gasoline. So someone is finally seeing sense. After all the fuss here recently regarding diesel vehicle taxes, nobody(conveniently) thought to look at the tax take on diesel itself. It seems this just might change.:woot:

The problem is not so much complicate, as you know that the diesel is cheaper than the Gasoline, you can yourself decide that how can we rise the prices of diesel and the taxes, it is not easy to do as Irish government want
