Hey everyone,

I brought my Insight into the second Honda dealer it's been to, to check the battery, and just like the first, they were useless. Recently, my Insight been recalling every other day. I am rarely using the assist and keep the battery very close to fully charged (see my MPG numbers below). I cannot convince the dealers that the battery is going bad, and they all tell me that same story "there are no codes, everything is fine, and we can't do anything 'till the IMA light comes on".

OK, I'm venting a little hear because I know it's just a matter of time before the IMA light comes on, but it's frustrating to drive in an almost continual recal state.

Can anyone offer and suggestions/advice. I would love my battery to fail ASAP!

Cheers,

Still under warranty? Dealers typically can't / won't diagnose until that IMA light comes on.

There is discussion on IC.net of replacing failed subpacks with Civic Hybrid packs - much easier and cheaper to find!

You might try calling Honda America's customer service to see if they are willing and able to offer any assistance.
