View Full Version : SGII issue

I have a 06 Civic LX AT

I recently unplugged my SGII to see about positioning it different when driving(I changed from the rear plug to the side plug)..When I reconnected it the SGII went through it's normal connecting bit and then just to double check things I went through and looked at all the engine/fuel/tank size settings..All of those were stored just as before..

I'm sure many of you have seen this in other vehicles, but it's a first for me with this vehicle. When you let off the gas in gear the GPH reading goes to 0.00 and the MPG goes to 9999. I know the ECU turns off power to the injectors and the motor is turning over because of the tires turning the transmission.

My problem:
The SGII no longer shows 0.00GPH and 9999mpg when I let off the gas now. I had not altered any other settings in the SGII prior to unplugging it and now it won't show that reading?

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Lucas

Perhaps you should reset it to factory settings and then re-configure the engine and tank size settings?

It's worth a try.

Thanks for the advice

You may need to reconfigure the "cutoff" setting. I don't have my SG here with me and can't remember how to get to it at the moment. If you find the cutoff setting, think of the 2 digit number as gallons/hour with a decimal point in front. Set it for just below the idle GPH and it should be fine.

The factory setting is "24" Your TPS (throttle postion) value at idle should be lower than 24 for it to work.

Thanks guys for all the input.

I will try the default settings first and then try these other setting options and see which one(s) work best.

So I reset the SGII to the default settings and everything is back to normal.

When coasting- foot off the gas and transmission(AT) in D the SGII again reads 9999mpg and 0.00gph.

Thanks again for all of the suggestions.
