Anybody have any experience with taking a Scangauge in carry-on luggage since 9/11?

Problems? No problem?

I'm traveling to MI on business next week and am considering taking it along for the rental. This would also allow me to use it in my own car going to the airport. However, I don't want to wind up losing it to security. My company will not reimburse for losses incurred on a business trip, TSA or otherwise.

I always carry a Scangauge when I travel. So far no problems, but I am ready to power it up on request if I am asked by the airport security. I rigged a little Cat 5 cable that is powered by a 12V AC adapter on the other end... just in case. :)

Cheers;

I don't see why it would be a problem. But I don't have any experience with trying it.

Hi Bruce:

___I have carried mine all over the country and have not had a problem yet? At least with the TSA in Chicago, San Francisco and LA so far?

Thanks, all.

TSA at Logan required all electronics to be parted about a year after 9/11, but I believe things have changed since then. Do you usually leave the SG in your carry-on or dump it in the bin?

I dropped the SG in my carry-on for the trip and had no problems at either end.

Thanks, everybody.
