It doesn't surprise me that bush's bigoil state is the biggest co2 producer. Now if you said something like vermont, I would be very surprised.

2 words: Oil Refining.
Which is then partially exported to other states, which have lower CO2 emissions. I'm not surprised.
Edit: also, 2nd most populous state, after Cali. Which happens to be the #2 polluter.
Edit #2: Valero, with several refineries in Texas, says the mandate for ultra-low-sulfur diesel has increased refinery emissions 33%.

I'm glad Gov Rick Perry's attempt to but 15 or so coal plants on the fast track got shelved when TXU changed hands....even considering the long hot summers, Texans have the highest utility bills in the US...why are we being charged so much more per kilowatt hour, yet most of it is coming from coal plants? :rolleyes:

that's because of the methane that's produced from all the bull**** coming from the people down here. now if you mid-westerners would stop voting TexAss oil men into the white house, we just might be able to address the real problems of our nation. ;~}

Texass does have a low nox boiler emissions law. And has had it for sometime.
