I have a SonicCare toothbrush like this - I highly recommend them.

Did have a problem with my first one - the NiMH batteries failed after six months. :(

One the second one I made sure to unplug it after it's fully charged, then let the battery almost fully deplete itself before recharging it again. Over a year later, it's going strong. :)

Of course, you can't expect a $80 product to be as sophisticated as a hybrid, so let's say I'm in a MIMA state of mind on my SonicCare. ;)

Best guess on the first SonicCare - overcharging shortened the NiMH batteries from the heat generated.

I guess that you are not brushing long enough to fully cycle the pack. You need to give the thing a Pack Whack, and brush till the motor slows down.:D;)
